Looking forward to reading this… It seems to me that in looking at abusive power in your other books (I’m thinking of the Last Dragonslayer series) you’re exploring discrimination there, too.

I only just caught up with this one earlier this year ... while it does fume with Brexit anger, I thought it more coherent and more broadly applicable than a lot of authors' Brexit-anger books, in some of which one can practically hear Twitter draining away the author's attention to the story (looking at you, Robert Harris). And it's one that I would happily read again. Thank you for writing it.

Looking forward to this. I never really got into the Thursday Next series ( my son loved them! we have them all), but I really enjoyed Shades of Grey. I was always expecting a follow up!

I loved this book. I love all of yours, but I did feel this one had an edge, not too sound horrendous but as though it had somehow matured into something even greater than the previous ones. This explanation really resonates, and thank you for it, and for thinking about this stuff, and for using it to make your work really sing. I would say the same about red side story too and I didn’t think anything could live up to shades of grey! Thank you for all your books they have added so much to many people’s lives 🤗

I love this book! It’s probably #2 in your oeuvre for me, after Shades of Grey. But, maybe it’s #1.

I read it on publication, and I loved it. I am worried, though, about your constant Wales abuse issues, despite the Valleys-speak vowel use in the above description of Lugless. 😆

It's long enough since I read the book for me to appreciate the reminder of the book's themes, the sharp points and cutting edges.

I'll be re-reading it.

Dark Reading Matter, you say?

Ok.
